Musical Whale~a game for Speaking Practice



活動名稱 Activity Name : Musical Whale and Shark

學生Students:
三年級 (Third Graders)

教學理念 Teaching Concept: 在輕鬆的學習氣氛下,學生可以輕鬆開口說英語。Students should be able to speak the target language in low anxiety situations, and games are good options for young children.

人數Amount of students:
30人

組別Teams:
六組 six teams in my class

時間Timing:
10 min.

道具Teaching Material:
任何布偶兩個(如圖),我是使用一隻藍鯨和鯊魚布偶 Two Dolls (I  used a blue whale and a black-and-white shark)

語言教學目標 Language Teaching Goal:  能夠用How old are you?問問句,並能用I'm ____years old.回答
Students are expected to ask " How old are you?" and respond "I'm ____ years old."

 

步驟Teaching Procedure:
1.先介紹兩隻布偶 Introduce the dolls
2.告訴學生藍鯨代表問句布偶,拿到藍鯨要問How old are you? 虎鯨代表答句,拿到鯊魚要回答 I'm _________ years old.Tell students that the blue whale is the Question Doll, and the black shark is the Answer doll.
3.播放音樂 Play music
4. 音樂停止時,拿到的同學要互相問答問題 When the music stops, the person with the blue whale should ask "How old are you?" and the person with the shark should answer the question.

5. 玩約10分鐘,盡量讓每一個都有問答機會 Play about ten minutes, everyone should get a turn to practice speaking out.

注意事項:
學生往往會過於興奮,以致於會有丟擲行為,所以一開始要約法三章。
例如:違規的人暫停一次或是出局之類的,讓學生遵守遊戲規則。

變化:
把句型改成 How are you? What do you like to do? What color is it?....等,都非常適用
